The Noah Family
| The House of Noah | ||
| The Noah Family, also referred to as the Noah Clan,
the Family of Noah, and the Ancient Family, are a family of fictional
characters in the manga series D.Gray-man written and illustrated by
Katsura Hoshino and appear in the anime adaption of the same name. Set
at the end of a fictional 19th century on a fictional Earth, D.Gray-man
follows the story of Allen Walker who is able to control an ancient
substance called Innocence as a weapon and becomes an Exorcist of the
Black Order to help fight against the Millennium Earl, the Noah Family,
and the Akuma, demonic beings created by using someone's sorrow for
the dead and resurrecting the dead soul to use as a weapon, and stop
their plan to destroy humanity. The Family is made up of thirteen superhumans
and are named after the fact they are the direct descendants of Noah. The Family first appears as an unnamed group at the Earl's dinner party towards the beginning of the series. They are formally introduced as a group shortly after and serve as the main antagonists from then on. Although they can look human, as a Noah they can be identified by a gray skin tone, yellow/gold eyes, and a horizontal line of seven cross-shaped markings referred to as "Holy Marks." They have an inborn drive to kill Exorcists and are easily more powerful than level 3 Akuma, the second strongest level of Akuma seen in the series so far, and most Exorcists. But just like Akuma, they base their powers off dark matter, the opposite of Innocence, and vulnerable to Innocence just as Innocence is vulnerable to dark matter. |
| Members | ||
Each member of the Noah Family are direct descendants of Noah and have inherited his genes. "Carved" upon each each members' genes is one of the memories of Noah. In order for one to become a Noah, the Noah's memories must awaken causing the line of stigmata, or Holy Marks, to appear across the forehead. This process seems to induce excruciating pain. Each Noah has a unique ability, but they share a common ability to destroy Innocence and all of their abilities are based off the opposite of Innocence, Dark Matter. This use of dark matter seems to give the Noah's Powers a purple theme. But they are still vulnerable to Innocence, although they are more resistant than the Akuma. The group is supposedly the true apostles chosen by God, in contrast with the ideas of the protagonist Black Order, who claim they follow the devil. There are thirteen members who, in spite of working with Akuma, are human, albeit with supernatural abilities; six of which have been introduced so far. It is possible for the Family to tell if a member has died through crying caused by the Noah inside of them mourning for the dead member. |

| Road Kamelot | ||
| Road Kamelot represents the "Dreams" of Noah and
is the first Noah formally introduced in the D.Gray-man series. Despite
her early teens appearance, she is referred to as "oldest" Noah or the
"First Child". She is also the adopted daughter of Sheryl Kamelot and
his wife and niece of Tyki Mikk. She is voiced by Shimizu Ai in the
Japanese anime dub. As the story progresses, her appearance becomes
more feminine. Early in the series, Road stated she hated humans. However, she has grown an attachment to Exorcist Allen Walker since then. Despite this, her family is still more important to her than Allen's safety. Although she is an antagonist and has displayed signs of sadism, her interaction with the other Noah vary on a basis similar to a normal family situation. She also retains child-like qualities as she is often seen eating candy and acts like a typical teen overall, procrastinating on homework and skipping classes. Road's abilities include complete regeneration, telekinesis, and telepathy. But she has displayed the most use of creating levitating candles sharpened to wax stakes to use as weapons and the ability to send an opponent's mind to one of many dimensions of her creation and control. These "dream worlds" take the form of wrapped gift boxes. Road is the only Noah capable of traveling between dimensions without the help of Noah's Ark due to a special door. Others can also pass through this door. She is presently the only Noah able to program Noah's Ark due to being the "First Child". Road first appears to Miranda, Allen, and Lenalee in the Rewinding Town to retrieve an Innocence fragment. There, she directs the Akuma, who successfully defeat the two Exorcists, and transports the entire group, including the Innocence, to one of her dimensions. She is the one who informs Allen of the Noah Family after he does not believe she is a human working with the Akuma. After he fails to harm her, Road stabs Allen's left eye, causing him some trouble later in the series, and nearly kills both him and Miranda. After the Innocence synchronizes with Miranda, allowing it to be used, and the Akuma are defeated, Road disappears vowing to meet them again. She is later seen programming the new Ark. Afterward, she is seen with other Noah on the old Ark as the Exorcists make their way through it. When the Exorcists reach the room Road and Tyki were waiting in, she traps Lenalee and Chaoji and sends Lavi's mind to another dimension. She threatens the entire Exorcist party after Tyki is defeated and exorcised, stating they must watch as she destroys Lavi's mind. After the dimension takes its toll on Lavi's "heart", or current self, and the Exorcist is taken over by a past personality, she forces Allen to fight him. But Lavi regains control of himself, badly burning Road into ashes. However, Road survived this and was subsequently seen at a ball with both Tyki and her adoptive father Sheryl and later at their home with her adoptive mother. |

| Tyki Mikk | ||
Tyki Mikk represents the "Pleasure" of Noah. He is the
younger brother of Sheryl Kamelot and the uncle of Road Kamelot.' He
is voiced by Morikawa Toshiyuki in the Japanese dub of the anime. The
Earl once mentions that Tyki subconsciously suppresses his Noah. But
it has consumed him, The Earl mentions this as Tyki's awakening and
expects this from Noah with the "Pleasure" memories in the future generations. |
| Skin Boric | ||
| Representing the "Wrath" of Noah, Skin Boric is a Noah
of American descent. He "awoke" as a Noah three years ago. When battling
Kanda on Noah's Ark in Edo, he is killed. He is voiced by Miyake Kenta
in the anime. He is large and has a constant gray skin tone and his
Holy Marks are always visible. He has an affinity for sweets. It is
mentioned that the Noah's memory of Wrath controlled him. Before he was a Noah, Skin worked at the dockyards in New Orleans. After experiencing the Wrath of Noah, the most potent of all the Noah's memories and the suffering his ancestors felt at the hands of the Innocence, he decided to never forgive the Exorcists or God. Skin's abilities are lightning based. When using his powers, his skin peels, revealing a spiked, golden layer. This golem-like body has a high resistance to attacks and amazing strength. Any enemy who manages to land a blow will receive an electric shock due to the fact Skin's body houses a large amount of electricity. Because of this, he can preform attacks such as Lightning, where a very large electrical discharge is shot out of his mouth toward the enemy, and Divine Punishment, when Skin's electrical energy appear as chain that restrict the enemy's movement and transfers electrical discharges into the enemy's body. This occurs after his attacks have been blocked or lands a blow on the enemy and Skin's energy slowly flows into the enemy's body until it is strong enough. Skin was originally assigned to kill General Tiedoll, but never took him head on, instead choosing to send Akuma to attack the group and watch from a distance. However, he came to Edo after the General came to the area. He met with the other Noah and the Millennium Earl. He fought off the Exorcists and was later seen on the collapsing Ark after the Exorcist party entered the first room. He battled Kanda, and after being nearly defeated once, badly wounded Kanda. In the end, he was killed. |

| Jasdevi (Jasdero and David) | ||
| Jasdevi is a pair of Noah twins who were originally
one. The short-haired David seems to be the more dominant. Jasdero seems
more submissive; this twin has a stitched mouth and longer, blond hair.
After a battle with Exorcist Krory, the pair disappeared and have yet
to reappear. David and Jasdero are voiced by Saiga Mitsuki and Morikubo
Showtaro respectively in the Japanese anime dub. They represent the
"Bonds" of Noah. The Twins have the power of Materialization. They focus this power by forming bullets created by the two thinking simultaneously and then shooting it through an identical pair of guns. The bullets' color denotes their effect. The Blue Bomb freezes anything it hits and the Red Bomb creates a large fireball. The White Bomb destroys anything in its path. The Purple Bomb, or the Deceiving Spectacles, creates a mask-like cover of paint over the eyes of the enemies and causes them to see any illusion that the twins want. The Green Bomb traps an opponent in a slime-filled bubble. Jasdevi's Hate is a technique that doesn't seem to require a bullet. It materializes a monster that seems to be made of numerous dead human bodies. The monster moves according to Jasdevi's will. Their Materialization skills also allow them to create numerous objects, such a floating, bubble used to trap an opponent, an illusion of the Earl that is derived from a past memory, and, as Jasdevi, an iron maiden used to trap Krory. By shooting one another, David and Jasdero can merge together and become Jasdevi. They no longer rely on the guns to focus their abilities, instead using bare hands. Jasdevi's long hair also becomes a weapon and gains new strength from the desire to create the "the strongest imagined body." Jasdevi first appears in Edo after failing to kill General Cross as directed multiple times. Although they met with the other Noah and the Earl, they were sent off to kill Cross once again. They reappear upon the Ark following Skin's death, after yet another failure to kill Cross. It is revealed that Cross constantly brushes his debts off and onto them. In a library-like room, they face the Exorcist party, and merely toy with them for a while. Eventually, the twins hit the group with their Purple bullet, causing the party to lose their key and sight of the Noah. However, Krory is able to locate them. After capturing Lenalee and unleashing Jasdevi's Hate and an illusionary Earl, Lavi finds the key, breaking the illusion. The twins become enraged because they are referred to as kids and the merge, becoming Jasdevi. Krory faces them alone, sending the rest of the Exorcists to the next room. Jasdevi has the upper hand for most of the battle, eventually locking Krory in an iron maiden created through their abilities. But Krory, using a new technique, exhausts Jasdevi. They split back into David and Jasdero before falling through the doorway before the room crumbles. This is the last time they have been seen so far. |

| Lulu Bell | ||
| Lulu Bell is a blonde female Noah, who wears a black
suit with a blue tie and often wears black shades. Originally appeared
at the Noah Dinner Party with the first few revealed Noah. In the Japanese
anime dub, she is voiced by Ogasawara Arisa. She recently appeared in the manga again. Disguised as Andrew Nansen, one of the Black Order branch heads, she infiltrated the Order's headquarters to lead an invasion of a horde of Akuma after Allen and his friends' hard struggle in the Ark. She plans to re-obtain the "egg" and create Skulls out of the most intelligent scientists of the Black Order. After seeing Allen, she also decides to bring him to the Earl to fill the spot of the 14th. Unfortunately for her, the generals of the Black Order, Cross Marian, Froi Tiedoll, Cloud Nyne, and Winters Zokalo, have proven to be far too powerful for Lulu Bell and her high-ranking Akuma to handle. In the end, she tried to escape with the egg, but Allen was on board and destroyed the egg, causing a massive explosion. Lulu Bell survived the explosion as Sheryl Kamelot mentions that she returned and was crying over the loss of the egg. Lulu Bell represents the "Lust" of Noah with the power of "Form. In the anime adaptation, she often turns herself into a black cat to hide in the shadows or for spy purposes. She has cat-like qualities as well in her human form (for example, she licks her plate while drinking milk). One of her main abilities as a Noah is the metamorphosis, in which she can transform herself into anyone or anything. She is not limited to a solid form, as she has been shown to transform into both humans for impersonation or water. She is especially deadly in liquid form as many attacks pass right through her. She has also been shown to turn her hands into whip-like tentacles, which she can use to pierce, strike, or slice. She is also able to affect Innocence to a certain degree. When Allen was sneak attacked by one of the Combined Akuma, he was temporarily weakened, which allowed Lulu Bell to negate Crown Clown with a slap |

| Sheryl Kamelot | ||
Sheryl Kamelot is the adopted father of Road Kamelot,
the older brother of Tyki Mikk, and the minister of a country. He stays
at his estate with his frail wife Tricia, who Tyki said he married only
to adopt Road. He apparently has an attachment to Road and Tyki and
often dotes on them both. However, it seems he is not aware of his daughter's
affections for Allen. Sheryl manipulates diplomatic situations, allowing
him to declare war. The war would lead to the creation of more Akuma.
Sheryl is similar in appearance to Tyki as he is also tall and has swept-back
hair tied in a ponytail. |

| The 14th | ||
The 14th, also referred to as "The Musician" was the extra member of the Noah Family and the younger brother of Mana Walker. He was the only member, other than the First Child Road and The Earl, who was able to control the Ark. Before the story's timeline, he gave this power away to a human and ran, betraying the Earl and the Family. The Earl killed him personally. Mana Walker was with the 14th up until then. Sometime before his death, he told Cross Marian that if Mana was looked after, he would return to him one day. |
